DevTain is back Online!

A friend of mine recently asked me whatever happened to my gaming blog and to be honest I couldn't give him a satisfactory answer. Truth be told I had so many other things going on at the time that it became an unfortunate casualty, as many blogs do. It's been nearly two years since I posted my last note of disappointment at the demise of the Anaheim GenCon. Perhaps having such a big convention right on my doorstep, and then seeing it die after only a couple of years helped to erode any enthusiasm I had left for the industry.

Then again maybe I just felt that I needed a break from something that had behind the scenes become all-consuming. I must admit I also felt a little disappointed at not being asked to help further in the process of putting GenCon Oz together. I had some great ideas and while the convention has ultimately become a success, I still believe my input could have improved some small part of it. I understand it's hard being a hands-on organizer from afar, but I was ready, willing and able to help, yet nobody asked. All of that was perhaps instrumental in the blog just ending.

Well, I have finally returned. Things in general haven't progressed as far forward as I would have liked with regard to my own gaming projects, but at least they have moved forward and they will still provide material for my posts here. I've also moved. Arizona is now just another chapter in life as Florida was before it. I'm now breathing good clean country air in Oregon, running a 50 acre sheep farm and training to become a cheesemaker. Yep you read that right, a cheesemaker.
